建于9世纪，13世纪中叶，主教把它改建为城堡，长时间以来是萨伏依公爵的居停。城堡外形美观，地牢却阴森可怖，曾囚困宗教改革者博尼瓦尔（Francois Bonivard），他被铁链绑在第五根柱子上达4年之久。18世纪末，英国浪漫诗人拜伦曾在洛桑写下《西庸城的囚犯》（The Prisoner of Chillon Chateau）。在塔楼顶，可饱览日内瓦湖美景及远眺蒙特勒。
